Johan Åkesson - Incruit #1

Describe yourself and your project. How did you get the idea?

The idea of Incruit came from discussions with a person within Region Skåne, we say a problem where persons wasted to much time on their phones trying to get a hold of temps. As well as they didn’t have any functioning system to share their temps between different departments. There for we created Incruit, the easy and organised way to contact your organisation.

Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc.

Who am I? I’m a young entrepreneur with a great passion for business and technologies. I’m studding a double minor in business law and economics and this is my second start up that I’m involved with. On my spare time I try to spend as much time as possible on different forms of exercises.

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?

My three-month of leapfrog will go to developing our product Incruit. We are currently testing live so much of the time will be spent on getting feedback on our product from users so we can create the best possible product. Time will also be spent on leeds hunting, as always.

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

The achievements that my team and I are aiming for during these 3 month are the ones as I wrote before do product development from user feedback. We are also aiming to finish our subscription page so we can let everyone enjoy the benefits of Incruit.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.

During this summer and Leapfrog we have had a focus on starting our pilot test with a medical in the public healthcare, this has been successful.  We are also preparing for next fall when we are going in to a collaboration project with a municipal in Skåne and a test group with a private healthcare company.  So the main focus for us now is getting our new backend in place as well as getting feedback from our first pilot test with in the healthcare.

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

Every thing has gone according to the plan ish, we have our mission for the summer and that is till our mission but there is always things that need to change a bit. The thing that we have noticed when going live testing is that all users are different and it take a bit more time then we originally thought getting every one ready to start using the program as in getting every one in the test group involved and ready to use the program.

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?

Our end mission the rest of the time will be as it where before to focus on building our new backend and getting everything ready and tested by the end of leapfrog. Of course there is always minor changes in the schedule and prioritising but our main mission/goal is still the same. So there is not so much change in the plan, we stick to the original idea and timeframe.

How did you experience the three months?

These month has been very interesting, both as in being able to work with our company fulltime and not have it as a side project. And it made us come very far during this month mainly trough developing our system. It has made us extra determined on having a goal of doing this fulltime in the future. So we are very great full for this chance that we got throw the Leapfrog scholarship to for fill our dreams and passion.

What has been hardest/most enjoyable?

Our hardest bit has ben if you look away from the developing of the product. Has been getting in touch with the right persons during the summer due to vacation time. Its not until the end now in august people have started to respond on mail/phone.

The best things of these opportunities had been able to work with your passion during a whole summer getting really into the team and knowing every good and bad side of it. It has been amazing for us as a team.

Did it go as expected? Will you continue working on your project in the future?

We have reached our goals that we sat up for the summer, as always there is always a bit of modification during the way. But in total everything went as expected.

We will be working with this in the future yes, for us this is the time to switch up to the next gear in our work due to allot of the development had been done during this summer. So our focuses is starting up our test groups and reach the market in a greater scale.

What would you say is the most important lesson learnt while working on your project?

The most important lesson that we bring with us from this summer is acutely even if you put up a plan and think that you know exactly what needed to be done it going to get changed, the end goal will be the same but the path to the goal is not always as easy or simple as you might thought. When that happens you shouldn’t become angry at your self but instead just take a deep breath and se it as learning experience and grow with the knowledge.

Do you have any tips to other ”new” entrepreneurs?

My tip is do as little as possible, let the user/customer say what they need. Speak to as many persons that you can and share your knowledge with out expecting anything in return.

And if you’re a team and not doing the development of the product (for me software) never ever listen to you developers when they say; I just need some days and everything will be done, show it anyway. It will never be done according to the developers anyway.
