Describe yourself and your project. How did you get the idea? 

I am a recent management graduate with some experience in 3D modelling and video game design. The project is based on the utilization of virtual reality for marketing purposes. In short, we intend to give companies with customizable products a way to incorporate the customizability into the sales process. We had already developed a similar platform but with no VR support. After using VR for entertainment purposes, we realized the potential in connecting the two.

 

Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc. 

Aspiring manager, 3D artist, cat person. Prior to my venture into VR, I have done 3D modelling and level design for video games. A game that I published for mobile platforms was awarded by Microsoft. As for education, I have studied Master’s in Management here in Lund; and American Culture in Turkey and Finland.

 

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time? 

I’ll be working on two demo projects. The industries we address are practically on hold during the summer, which gives us a great opportunity to further develop our platform. The idea is to have one architectural and one naval project to be used as demos so that we can show our product to our clients. I’ll also be working on the website and gathering a sales team in Sweden.

 

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

I have three goals for the summer: To get a website up and running, to develop and optimize the two demo projects as described above, and to get a sales team up and running in Sweden. I am practically half way into all three goals.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time. 

We have been working on a demo project to show to clients and reading up on the legal side of things. The project itself should be ready within a month or two. We have been adding new features to what we already had and refining the existing features. We have also experimented with a few new types of input, but I don’t expect us to integrate those anytime soon.

 

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

Without revealing too much, I can share that some of the features that we initially wanted to add to our first demo build had to be put on hold. Things developed at a slightly slower pace than expected, and we have done quite a bit of prioritizing. In other words, we are sticking to our original deadlines by shedding a few things here and there.

 

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way? 

We are sticking to the original deadlines, but not the original scope of features -if that makes sense. During the remaining time, we intend to reach clients, receive feedback, and allocate a month or two to integrating the feedback into the service. The other goals (website etc.) remain as they were. From a personal perspective, I will also be dealing with visa/permit issues in the meantime.
