Charlotte Artman - GRL PWR Production

Charlotte Artman - GRL PWR Production  #1

Describe yourself and your project. How did you get the idea?

Our idea is a new modern concept, by young girls - for young girls. We will start with a boost camp that we hope will be a natural part of the summer vacation for high school girls. The main purpose is to strengthen our younger generation and create self confidence. The idea was born when me, and my companion Ebba, spoke about how bad many young girls are feeling and we wanted to make a difference.

Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc.

I am a curious 23-year-old girl who studies bachelor in Business Administration at Lund University. My previous experience is mainly within sales and service in retail and bank where my moto always has been to exceed expectations. Entrepreneurship and working with people is my biggest passion and I am so excited to develop GRL PWR Production.

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?

Our first big event will bee a GRL PWR boost camp for girls between 14 and 15 years old. Our boost camp will be held in the middle of July during five days. Until then we will work at Mindpark in Helsingborg and plan and structure the week and all the activities and speakers. After the week we will evaluate and try to find new GRL PWR ambassadors in other cities.

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

During the summer with Leapfrogs my goal is to grow as an entrepreneur and get more knowledge. I want to challenge myself and try new things and meet new people. I also hope that our boost camp will make a change for the girls and that we can develop GRL PWR Production furthermore.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.

We’ve just completed our main goal for the summer! Hosting a summer boost camp for girls between 14-15 years old in Helsingborg. It would be fair to call it a success! Both the participants and us were beyond pleased with the outcome and 100 % wanted to do it again and 100 % would recommend it to a friend. Both Charlotte and I are overwhelmed by the positive response we’ve received!

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

Most things went like we were hoping and planning for. However we weren’t prepared for all the girls opening up for us sharing their inner feelings and thoughts. Until next time we want to get more knowledge how to handling those things. Except from that the whole week was a very positive experience and we got a lot of great attention from different medias. For example, we was shown in SVT Sydnytt, first page of HD along with recording a podcast about people working for Helsingborg’s development in different ways.

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?

During the remaining time we want to develop our webpage, pitch and talk about the results from the week together with Helsingborg Stad. We want to explore in what direction we want to take our activities in order to make them more economically sustainable. We want to do something bigger about this whole project, our 31 one participants during the week is the prof that this really is an important subject. However we are aware of the cost of doing this again would be another, not relaying on people working non-profit.
