Linnéa Ljungar Chapelon - Lawpower
Linnéa Ljungar Chapelon - Lawpower #1
Describe yourself and your project. How did you get the idea?
My name is Linnéa and I’m a law student at Lund University. Many law students work with easy tasks that requires no special qualifications, which I see as a huge waste of time and competence. I believe that the best results come when academic education is combined with practical education. For this reason, Lawpower was created as an attempt to help law students get qualified jobs within the field of law.
Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc.
I study law because I like to solve problems and help people. The feeling of helping someone motivates me and inspires me to do my very best. My goal is to become a lawyer and eventually have my own law firm. I have a bachelor’s degree in French and I have studied Political Science and Peace- and conflict Science as well. I also like to exercise and used to practice karate.
What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?
I will spend six weeks of the summer at Drivhuset, an accelerator for startups in Malmö. The remaining weeks I will continue working on my project by myself. I will focus on becoming great on learning how to pitch. I will record video pitches with myself as well as with other law students, thereafter I will send the videos to law firms as an alternative way of applying for jobs.
What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?
My aspiration is that law students at Lund University will know that Lawpower exists and that I will have created a platform for students to help each other with job applications and that I will inspire people to be more creative when searching for jobs. If I can help one student to get the job that he or she wishes to get I would be very happy.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.
So far I have been sitting at Drivhuset in Malmö which is an accelerator. This has been very helpful and I have learned a lot. I have done a market survey and I’m happy about the answers I received. I have also talked to a lot of people regarding my project and it seems as if many people genuinely belive in Lawpower. I now also have a potential customer that I am trying to help at the moment.
Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?
After a while I changed the idea a bit but now I’m back with the “original” plan so to say. I wouldn’t say that something unexpected has occurred. After having sent out the market survey I understood how important it is to be super clear when asking someone a question since a question sometimes can be interpreted in various ways. It was harder than I thought to get people to answer a survey that contains 15 questions.
What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?
Right now I’m going to focus on becoming great at pitching the Lawpower-idea since I’m meeting some investors next week, something which I really look forward towards. No matter the outcome of the meeting, I’m certain that I will learn a lot. Thereafter I will continue to work with the project according to the original plan and I will of course continue to go out there and talk to people and try to get more customers.
