Ludvig Brisby Jeppsson – EATIMIZE

Ludvig Brisby Jeppsson - EATIMIZE #1

Describe yourself and your project. How did you get the idea?

What is optimal for me to eat?

At least three times a day I ask myself that question. I exercise a lot and believe that my nutrition intake has a great effect on health and ability to perform in all different aspects of life. But a while back I grew tired of all existing tools, with all there time consuming logging and general advice. I just want somebody to tell me exactly what to eat!

So now EATIMIZE is building that service.

Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc.

My name is Ludvig, I am 23 years old and study Industrial Engineering and Management. Sports have always been a great passion and my childhood years were mostly spent on the football ground. Three years ago I moved to Lund where I met my classmate Fredrik, who spent his childhood years in the virtual world. Together we found a common interest in tech start-ups and have now teamed up to embark on our own journey.

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?

During the summer we are stationed at Venture Lab. Initially we will work with software development and then gradually start with marketing activities. A testing session will be conducted with a focus group of potential customers. The response will hopefully lead to confirmation of the need and become a foundation for improvements leading up to the launch.

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

The first goal of the summer is to take make our prototype into a first version of the final mobile application. The second goal is to register a company. The third goal is to launch a first version of the app.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.

So far Fredrik and I have transformed our prototype into an Andriod app. Time has been spent on learning how to code in Andriod Studios, how a multi page app should be designed and how to set up and handle a database in that context. Some time has also been spent on researching nutrition advice in order to create relevant content. Since last week we also have started meeting with potential users in our target group and gathered feedback of our first version.

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

So far, everything has gone pretty much according to plan. We knew that there were going to be a knowledge threshold with databases and new code environment, but we have managed thanks to a lot of instructions videos, stackoverflow and friends from other companies at Venture Lab.

The one thing that might have been harder than expected, or at least more time consuming, has been to decide on questions related to design and user behaviour. That’s also why we have decided to meet with potential users and gather feedback.

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?

Focus during the remaining time will be to use the gathered feedback to improve and add functionality to the present version. Apart from functionality, content also has to be improved to make it into a releasable Android app. If time is on our side minor marketing activities, e.g. setting up a website, will be conducted connected to launch. If we succeed with releasing the app it will mean that we have followed the original plan.
