Describe the idea!

We are developing the next generation of power outlets. They will autonomously make your electricity usage more effective and safer. They will also give you a better control and view of your electricity consumption through an application.

Who are you?

Born as a musician and a songwriter, released one EP with Bad Mans Jam and one LP with the band Naked Presidents. Gave it my all and failed…. To be continued…….

2016 I grew bored of music and started to study Industrial Engineering and management, which I will continue to do until I hit a business sweet spot.

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?

I will continue to meet companies to find out what they really need. Talk to experts in the area to find out better and easier ways to make it. Keep on prototyping to see how we could improve and find new ways to use it.

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

I’d love to land a deal with a company before the summer ends.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.

I have been doing market research during the summer, had a meeting with the energy optimizer at Volvo Cars, NKT HV Cables and at NKT HV Cables we landed a pilot program to see how we can reduce their energy waste. We have applied for a patent, sent out forms to find out what companies want (think they want) and we continued the prototyping, which took us a long time.

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

The prototyping has been harder and took bit longer time than expected. We have decided to not continue the prototyping ourselves due to the fact that we can’t afford to buy new computers. The screens break very easily. Everything else went according to plan. The most unexpected thing was that I found a business opportunity in a totally different field. This will be what I focus on from here on.

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?

After the summer ends I will go full on into another field and another company. With the time that is left, I will focus on making the project together with NKT High Voltage Cables as successful as it can be. We will follow our original plan with the exception that we won´t do the prototyping ourselves. During this leapfrog summer I have meet with a lot of exciting people that will be my mentors and friends for a long time.

How did you experience the three months?

I had a great summer, I learned a lot.

What has been most difficult and what has been most enjoyable?

Most difficult was that I thought I had to do the developing myself. I am more into sales and working with people aka group dynamics. The meeting with Hampus was great, I love meeting people that I can relate to. There are only a few people out there like him and it gives me hope for my own future.

Will you continue working on your project in the future? If so, what is your next step?

I will continue working on the project and my next step is to deliver a great product to NKT High Voltage Cables.

What would you say is the most important lesson learnt while working on your project?

Keep going and don´t be afraid to change the product.

Do you have any tips to other new entrepreneurs?

Put in the hours and results will come, almost no matter how lousy your idea initially was.
