Describe the idea!

A case management system with features like video call, chat and time booking for agricultural advisory.

Who are you?

I am currently studying information architecture at Malmö University, parallelly working with this project. I grew up on a farm in Västra Götaland and I also have a degree from SLU Alnarp in agricultural and rural management. From this experience have noticed that there is a need for digitalization in agricultural advisory services.

What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?

Right now we are testing our beta prototype for Hushållningssällskapet Väst. From the feedback that we recieve from the testers, we will update the design and functionality of the service. Our next milestone is to test for a larger group of users for HIR Skåne later this summer.

What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?

In addition to developing a better service, I look forward to taking part in the workshops you offer. I hope it can lead to personal development, inspiration and a extension of my network.

Tell us what you have done on your project so far during the Leapfrogs time.

During the summer I worked with the development of the service along with Saad. During June, a large company with 700 employees tested the service. From the test we received some feedback on improvements and bugs. The company's board will now decide whether they will license the service in the future.

In addition, I have contacted several companies that have been queued to test the service.

Right now, I’m starting up a company, develop a logotype. I have also brought an additional developer to the project.

Has everything gone according to the plan? Has anything unexpected occurred? Has something been easier/harder than expected?

The project has gone well during the summer. However, we encountered some technical problems at the start of the test period. The users who used Android's Google Play to download the app encountered problems, which led to a day's delay for them. This was nothing that then gave rise to any negative feedback, but it was of course stressful for us when we wanted to inspire confidence. A positive aspect is that it has been relatively easy to find several prospects to the service.

What will you focus on during the remaining time? Will you follow your original plan or has anything changed along the way?

A major focus continues to be on the development of the service. Together with the two developers in the project, we will develop an improved service for the tests that will take place in September. From one of the business developers who sits at MINC in Malmö, I have been tasked to develop an offer document as well as a "sales scripts" that lead prospects through the process to become a paying customer.

How did you experience the three months?

They have been very intensive! We have taken great steps regarding the service and the user experience. Personally, I have become a much better salesman thanks to leapfrog's workshops and Minc's business developer Kinga.

What has been most difficult and what has been most enjoyable?

Sometimes all the problems have come at once. During these periods, you usually question what you do. But I have come to realize that you have to learn to relax and accept that as an entrepreneur you wake up and fall asleep with problems. One of the best moments was when we got the offer to become an incubator at Minc. You can read more about what that means here: https://www.minc.se/incubator

Will you continue working on your project in the future? If so, what is your next step?

Absolutely! We now focus on the Swedish forest & agricultural industry. We have currently three companies have given strong buy signals that we are seeking to become paying customers.

What would you say is the most important lesson learnt while working on your project?

To be clear! People often interpret things differently, so it's usually best to be clear about what you mean.

Do you have any tips to other new entrepreneurs?

Just try! At school, we learn how to prepare for every possible scenario. This will not always be the best approach in the entrepreneurial world. Here it is important to be effective in moving forward to win time and save money as it is our limited resources.
