Oliver Dahllöf - Malmö Studentpark
Oliver Dahllöf - Malmö Studentpark #1
Describe the idea:
Today there are about 17.000 student homes missing in Sweden. It is one of the biggest reasons that student is Sweden choose to drop out in their first year or choose to not apply for higher education at all according to a SFS (Sveriges förenade studentkårer). I believe that we can use old shipping containers to upcycle new and modern student homes that are easy to transport and put together.
Who are you? Previous education/jobs/ experiences etc.
I recently graduated from Malmö University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science with one of the most important courses being in entrepreneurship and startups. Previous work experience varies between Apple, Lunicore Student Consulting and running my own freelance business to help others and run my own different projects. The last 5 years I also travelled to 23 countries over 4 continents and it developed me more than anything else I’ve done.
What will you do during these three months? How will you spend the time?
This three months I will focus on establishing relationships and looking at the possibility to actually build a new student park of containers in Malmö. With the relationships I also hope to develop a prototype that further will show how a container home could look, feel and work in Malmö.
What do you expect to achieve during Leapfrogs?
My hope is to develop relationships and bring in the money necessary to build a proper prototype for this project. I also hope to find land that could potentially be used for a future student park.
